What is TeaPartyConnect.com?

Over time, it became increasingly clear there needed to be a place for people to either connect with a Tea Party near them, or learn how to start their own.

Additionally, leaders of Tea Party groups needed a place to share news & ideas, muster national support, or just network with other Tea Party groups.

TeaPartyConnect was created to address those needs!

Spoiled Teacher Gets A Paddling From The Governor

This is soooo cool!

I swear I would vote for Chris Christie for President today if I had the chance, solely on the basis of this and today’s video tidbit.

On Tuesday, May 25th, 2010, Governor Chris Christie was confronted during the Q&A session of a town hall meeting originally called to discuss a proposed constitutional amendment to cap rises in property tax. One, Rita Wilson, a teacher, stood to state the same old union line that “teachers are not paid enough.” She cited the “fact” that someone told her she should be making $3 per student per hour which in her words would be “$83,000 per year” but that she was not making anywhere near that amount. Christie responded in his own wonderful style.

I could describe it, but here’s the video:

The spoiled teacher apparently didn’t realize who she was going up against and Christie with calm, common sense simply pointed out exactly what any business owner would point out to an employee who acted this way that they really didn’t have to do the job if they were unhappy with their pay.

But the story doesn’t end there. Apparently, the petulant teacher needs to go back and brush up on her math. Turns out that if a teacher is paid $3.00 per student per hour with a standard class size of 30 students and let’s just say for argument that the school is only open for 180 days per year, the teacher would be making $97,200 per year NOT $83,000 as the teacher claimed.

However, not only can’t the teacher add, she apparently can’t tell the truth either.

According to public records published by her own school district in 2009, Rita Wilson’s base salary is $86,389 per year before benefits and before she is paid her additional stipend for something called “co-curriculum” work. I don’t know what “co-curriculum” work is, perhaps a teacher can fill me in. My first thought was that was something like monitoring study hall or something, but I could be wrong.

Anyway, the teacher stood up and spouted the standard teacher’s union tripe to a Governor with common-sense and the ability & willingness to use it and she got paddled. Christie got in at least three good licks and if the bloggers keep doing their jobs, she’ll soon be staying after school writing “I will tell the truth and be happy with the choices I’ve made in my life.” at least a thousand times.
