I haven’t always agreed with everything Newt has said or done in the past. I can think of some pictures he took hugging on Hillary Clinton, and I think he went off the reservation when he tried to cosy up to some of the left-wing nutjobs. I completely lost any hope of his retaining the conservative label when he put party ahead of principle and endorsed Dede Scozzafava in NY-23 and frankly, I was done with Newt after that.
The tea party fight has always been about principle over party and I resented him telling me to suck it up and vote for Dede. It was more important to make a point in NY-23 and I believe had we had a little more time to help out in that district, conservatives would have won that race, but the loss put us in the perfect position to help Scott Brown win later in MA, and the learning curve was better spent on the NY race and not on MA race.
That having been said, I just saw a video that might earn Newt a few points with the average conservative, because he has hit upon something that I suspect very few people have considered. Watch the following video and leave your comments pro and con.

I think Newt has some valid points and we do need to pull out all of the stops in order to defeat the liberal socialists now in power. We have to take away their ability to enact law with courts rather than congress. I also think Newt is running for president so we will see if he backs up is conservative talk. I do like what he says in this video. It is time for change and we will have to see who we can count on.
Mr. Gingrich is correct in all that he addresses in this video. The Fort Hood murders would never have happened if the entire Military was ordered to read the ancient book, that is still in print, titled "The Art of War". I have read it, and it explicitly says, that the country which is at war, should never allow anyone from another country who does not have the same standards, to participate with them in the war! If the rest of the Military was ordered to read this book like the Marines are, this never would have happened. I am a Mother of a former Marine, and know that this book is essential for military victory. When you are at war, you should not overlook anything!
Also, this country was founded on freedom of religion, because Christianity has always been persecuted, everywhere else.
We should absolutely abolish some judges, just as he said. No one should have a job for life, if he is performing poorly, and making bad decisions.
We need to have more Statesmen standing up for what this country is all about, and stop all of the slow destruction of our Constitution, that we are seeing. As George Washington said, "Victory or Death!"
