It seems to me that if peaceable Muslims wanted to do something friendly and non-threatening, then they should use the land they purchased to build a monument to the 3,000 dead and include on the monument a statement rejecting the terrorism that brought down the twin towers instead of building a mosque.
But in spite of all common sense, the Muslim community or at least some of them are hell-bent on building a mosque at Ground Zero. Nevermind that traditionally, Muslims build mosques on spots with historical significance to their religion. Nevermind, that much of the argument over Jerusalem between Arabs and Jews is directly tied to this need on the part of both religions to build religious monuments on the same spots.
To me, it would be the same if neo-Nazis decided that erecting a museum dedicated to Adolf Hitler across the street or next door to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, or even worse at the Auschwitz Concentration Camp itself. (And please, don’t think that in saying this, I’m somehow equating Arabs with Hitler, but I do believe the scale of the opposition to that kind of suggestion would be the same or greater.)
There are a lot of people coming out against the mosque and the differences between the ruling elite and the rest of us are starting to show. The ruling elite are the ones who asked that television stations quit showing video of the attack on the Twin Towers because it would anger common people. They prefer not to look at disturbing images and more importantly, they prefer we not look at disturbing images for fear of what we, the common people, might do or feel.
Does it seem the ruling elite are more concerned with what we might do, than what was actually done?

Our intention with this image is to remind readers of the terrible nature of the attack and to balance that nature with our opposition. This is not a question of religious freedom, since any religion has the right to build a house of worship where ever they please in the United States. But we are trying to show solidarity with those who oppose the mosque and to remind those who are in favor of the mosque of the offensive nature of this plan.
Here’s a reality check: I don’t see any Christian Churches being planned for locations where there were great battles during the Crusades, do you?

The First Amendment is binding for us all as Americans. Freedom of Religion,Freedom of the Press and Expression….but an Islamic Mosque near Ground 0 seems to me to be pushing the limits of consideration with no respect to the Constitution. Are we bias in religion and discriminating ? No and go pray where ever you feel comfortable but Ground 0 needs to be off limits for an Islamic Mosque or for that matter any building. Why there ? Homeland security doesn't sound excited about this and just wonder,does the Mayor of New York have enough permits for protest for this controversial decision ? You can't sing,pray or gather near the Lincoln Memorial and so why should it be allowed that we the people of the United States support an Islamic Mosque at Ground 0 ? What is the legal clause that states we can't as Americans gather,sing or pray in a group by this memorial ? Can we not implement the same at Ground 0 ? Not sure it would matter what religious organization wanted to build and they would find Americans objecting. Ground 0 -No Mosque="Let It Be…" + words of wisdom…." The Beatles or Jennifer Hudson. In other words, Americans citizens who are Muslim are not “first class” citizens, only “second class” Where have we heard this before in our history about efforts to make some citizens “second class,” not because of whom they worshiped, but based on the color of the skin or their national origin ?
