What is TeaPartyConnect.com?

Over time, it became increasingly clear there needed to be a place for people to either connect with a Tea Party near them, or learn how to start their own.

Additionally, leaders of Tea Party groups needed a place to share news & ideas, muster national support, or just network with other Tea Party groups.

TeaPartyConnect was created to address those needs!

Why TeaPartyConnect.com?

"I sincerely believe that banking establishments are more dangerous than standing armies, and that the principle of spending money to be paid by posterity, under the name of funding is but swindling futurity on a large scale."

Here on this Memorial Day 2011 when we pay homage to all those who served but especially to those who made ‘the ultimate sacrifice’ I wanted to pass on one thought.

In our society, notably since the end of the Vietnam conflict and the termination of the Selective Service Draft, there are many who have never served. That they never served is ‘their loss’. Other than the distorted vision they have formed from many movies, they truly have no concept about military life and the commitment of those who serve. I have met many who oppose the military and all possible reasons by which we place our young people and their leaders in “harm’s way”. They have a right to their opinion but, in my estimation, they are completely wrong.

Today I want to simply note a statement by the reknowned British philosopher John Stuart Mill:

“War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things; the decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks nothing worth a war, is worse. A man who has nothing which he cares more about than he does about his personal safety is a miserable creature who has no chance at being free, unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself.”

No truer words have ever been said.

God Bless all who serve.

Our country is a better place because of them.

Why should we be concerned or pay attention to events in Egypt?

This is not a problem that just ‘popped up’ or suddenly happened. Hosni Mubarak claimed to be President but was in reality nothing more than a dictator. Egypt has suffered for years under oppressive rule, police brutality, poverty, suppression of civil liberties, poor economic opportunities and restrictions on speech.

With regards to the above, they are not unlike almost all Islamic nations . . . especially Arab nations. Democracy is a totally unknown commodity there with few exceptions. One thing they all have in common is a violent and strident opposition to Israel. Second to Israel in their hatred is the USA followed by most European nations.

We listen to all the rhetoric. We witness the negative campaigning. Through it all, hopefully, we will find reality.

Tuesday’s elections will undoubtedly see substantial gains for Republicans. This alone is no cure for our present problems.

Besides the detrimental socialist legislations by our liberal Congress, we have other more deeply rooted problems. Corruption abounds on both sides of the aisle. Ethics, integrity and honesty are at a low point. Cronyism, PACs and lobbyist efforts have far too much influence in Washington.

It is glaringly evident the modern day NAACP has abandoned the vision and dream of the Civil Rights Movements of years ago to join the liberal ‘fear mongering’ horde of politicians suddenly ‘running scared’. Dr. King would be appalled.

In doing so, they shamelessly betray blacks by trying to convince them they are victims in America based on race. This graphically identifies the NAACP as the ones who are truly ‘racists’ and not the Tea Parties they are trying to disparage. The NAACP’s so-called documented report that the tea parties are racist is part of their desperate, panic appeal to get out the vote campaign. With only two weeks remaining before the predicted democrat debacle at the polls, democrats are frantically attempting to fire up their lethargic base since their appeal is sagging.

As the rednecks down here in the South say, “Who’d have thunk it?”

About a year and a half ago we saw the beginning of the 9/12 and Tea Party movements.  We were accused of being ‘astro-turf’, racist, trouble making folks inciting to riot and social unrest.  In actuality, we were people who recognized incompetence and arrogance in our elected officials who were seemingly bent on installing a Socialist – Marxist government.  We were appalled by the misdirected ‘stimulus’ and bail-out programs and growing power of big government and unions.  We were dismayed by the increasing manipulation of Obama’s ‘Chicago’ politics and cronies.  The disrespect of our Armed Forces, misuse of our Judicial System, failed Middle East policies, continued high unemployment and a poorly conceived and unconstitutional HealthCare program only made us more determined to increase our efforts.  We evidenced a fiscal and housing policy compiled overnight that will take us years with undue hardships from which to recover.  We saw an immigration policy completely in disarray with the administration pandering for latino votes and, of course, an increased pandering for gay and lesbian votes.

Editor’s Note: The following comments were written by guest writer David Evans who blogs at http://daevans34.blogspot.com. He sends much of his material out via email and after receiving a forwarded email copy of this particular article we contacted him and got his permission to repost it here. It dovetails with our belief that many people who are now Tea Party members got their wakeup call on September 11th, 2001.

It is said that most of us can vividly remember past events of disaster and calamity. Being somewhat older than most of you, I can recall listening to radio reports of the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor (Contrary to some reports, I cannot remember the sinking of the USS Maine in Havana harbor). I can recall all of the events relative to the assassination of President Kennedy including where I was and what I was doing. My wife and I were in the Brussels, Belgium airport when the first survivors of the Belgian Congo Massacre arrived there in Nov. 1964 with the Queen of Belgium in attendance. We have witnessed history in the making.

All those of school age and older can (or should) recall the same things about that awful day on Sep. 11, 2001 . . . where they were and what they were doing, etc. Most Americans never will forget what happened that terrible day.

But not all.
