1. Is TeaPartyConnect.com funded by some other organization?
No. TeaPartyConnect.com was started by a Tea Party member and leader who recognized that the Tea Party Movement will only continue and succeed if strong lines of communication are developed between the various Tea Party/9-12 groups. This is not an effort to coordinate or control the Tea Party message, but rather it is an effort to provide Tea Party Leaders a place to gather and share information about their group and their projects to inform and educate others who are also participating in Tea Party groups.

2. Isn’t TeaPartyConnect.com just a partisan attempt to push the Republican Party?
Not intentionally. Unfortunately, a certain amount of partisanship is unavoidable when you consider the very little of the Democratic Party’s platform lines up with values held by most Tea Party members. That having been said, a lot of the Republican Party Platform is at odds with Tea Party Values as well. While we all strive to be values oriented rather than party oriented, it is an unavoidable truth that since we have a two-party system in the United States at some point choices have to be made. When those choices come up, every American citizen has the right to compare what each party offers and then make a reasoned decision as to which party or candidate best represents the interests of the individual. TeaPartyConnect.com reserves the right to make the same kinds of choices. There are fiscally conservative Democrat candidates just as there are fiscally irresponsible Republican candidates. In each case, TeaPartyConnect.com will consider each race, topic or issue through the prism of Constitutional Fidelity, Fiscal Responsibility and Personal Responsibility and allow the chips to fall where they may. The authors of all articles posted on this site are individuals with their own beliefs and interests and TeaPartyConnect.com in no way encourages them to provide specific opinions on either side of an issue. Our job is to provide the means to stimulate conversation and thought. No more, no less.

3. How much does it cost to join TeaPartyConnect.com?
Absolutely nothing. Anyone who is a member of a tea party group can join the conversations for free. All of the services offered by TeaPartyConnect.com are free. The site is privately hosted on servers owned by the founder and is not subject to any overhead costs other than electricity and equipment maintenance. The site will be supported by some simple advertising provided by Google and we do encourage our visitors to check out the advertisers if something interests them. We are also making available the opportunity to donate to this effort should you feel that you’ve benefitted in some significant way from the information provided by the site or the forums. However, donations are completely voluntary and you will never be asked either in an email or on the site to donate to help fund this cause.

4. Are donations to the site tax deductible?
No. We are not a tax deductible organization and though we may or may not make recommendations to readers about specific candidates, we reserve the right to do so. At best we could become a tax exempt organization, but to do so would limit our ability to call it like we see it. At this time, there are no plans to give up our First Amendment Right to Free Speech, which we believe would happen should we decide to focus on tax deductability rather than our primary mission of fostering communication. The laws regarding tax-deductible and tax-exempt statuses make it clear to us that they would seriously impede our ability to make good on our mission.

5. Signing up requires an email address. How do I know that you will not use or sell my email address?
The purpose of requiring your email address is two-fold. First, it confirms for us that you are who you say you are and that any system generated email messages will be sent to a valid address. Second, the forum system and the commenting system are configured to send email messages to commentors whenever there is a reply to a comment you’ve posted on the site. This is strictly to let you know that people are responding to you. These messages are automated and are not reviewed by anyone at TeaPartyConnect.com before sending nor are they generated manually. You can read our Terms Of Service Policy if you would like to know more about how your information will and will not be used.

6. Can I become a Contributing Author?
Yes. Simple use our Contact Us Page to introduce yourself and provide us with a link to your blog or other published works so we can get a feel for the type of writing you do. Then our staff and the other contributors will review the work and decide whether you will be accepted as a Contributing Author. Whether you are accepted as a Contributing Author or not, you can always Register For Our Private Forums and post anything you want in the forums. One major item we look for in Contributing Authors is whether their writing is related to Tea Party activities or helping Tea Parties grow and prosper. Conspiracy Theorists need not apply.
